Over 60 years of growing experience<\/h1><\/div>

The story of Tamsin Oy dates back to the early 1960s with local greenhouse cultivation in the village of \u00c4yst\u00f6 in Teuva. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

While greenhouse cultivation was already widespread along the coast in the 1950s, Paavo and Liisa Tamsi<\/strong> built their first greenhouse on their home farm in 1958<\/strong>. The family’s children participated in cultivation from a young age, and in the early 1960s an extension was built, the management of which was entrusted to young Matti<\/strong>. Cucumbers were grown on this farm and sold to local customers. The plants grew so well that the passion for growing flourished.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Matti’s independent growing venture took a new turn when he decided to build his own greenhouse. The first growing season began in <\/span>March 1966<\/strong> with cucumber cultivation. In the following years, the greenhouse area was expanded in stages in <\/span>1968<\/strong>, <\/span>1972<\/strong>, and <\/span>1974<\/strong>, which laid the foundation for future business. Already in the early 1970s, various salad greens, dill, and parsley were introduced to cultivation. Additional expansions were made at intervals of several years.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1979<\/strong>, operations were further developed when the company was converted into a limited partnership. Matti’s brothers Pauli and Jaakko Tamsi<\/strong> and Matti’s wife Anneli<\/strong> joined the business. In 1994<\/b>, the company was registered as a limited liability company.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In<\/span> 1980<\/b>, the company was once again a pioneer when it switched from fuel oil to domestic fuels such as wood chips and peat, which was rare in Finland at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the early 1990s, the company gradually transitioned to year-round cultivation, and in 1992<\/strong> Tamsin also introduced sea buckthorn cultivation to the Suupohja region. Although sea buckthorn cultivation spread more widely and was initially successful, it has since declined due to harvesting challenges. <\/p>\n

The company’s growth continued, and in 2013<\/strong> a significant generational transition took place. In 2014<\/strong>, companies founded by the younger generation merged into the business: Tamsin Tarhat Oy, founded in 1998<\/strong> and led by Maarit Tamsi, and Tamsin Vihannes Oy, founded in 2009<\/strong> and led by Sakari Tamsi. <\/p>\n

Tamsin Oy has developed and expanded its operations over the decades, and is today a significant and modern player in domestic vegetable
